In early January, a spinoff company was founded by the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) team of ECONUTRI, named “NUTRISENSE – Nature-based Solutions for Nutrient Management in Agriculture P.C.”, shortly referenced as “NUTRISENSE PC”.
The aim of NUTRISENSE PC (NUTRISENSE I.K.E. in Greek) is to exploit the research findings originating from ECONUTRI and some older research projects feeding into ECONUTRI (NUTRISENSE and VEG-ADAPT), thus increasing their TRL from 5 to 8.
The core technology exploited by the spinoff company is the DSS NUTRISENSE in its two versions, namely SOIL NutriSense and SOILLESS NutriSense, which are deployed by ECONUTRI as innovative technologies in T3.2 and T3.3, respectively.
The DSS NUTRISENSE is available both in Greek and English and thus it is accessible and commercially available to all growers internationally. The ECONUTRI team plans to translate the DSS NUTRISENSE into multiple languages, starting with Chinese. Thus, making agricultural knowledge accessible and user-friendly for non-English speakers, empowering growers and agronomists.
