However, this is great news for Econutri, as it can significantly increase the project’s visibility in China.
At the China-Europe Natural Solutions Liquid Special Fertilizer Forum held on March 18, 2024, Professor Chen Qing of China Agricultural University discussed the types and benefits of liquid fertilizers. He highlighted the problems caused by excessive fertilizer use in China and emphasized the effectiveness of health-friendly, functional, and organic water-soluble fertilizers. Looking ahead, he noted that the fertilizer industry is trending towards organic substitution, efficiency improvement, and intelligent, precise fertilization management.
The Director of the Water-Saving Agricultural Technology Division emphasized at the fertilizer forum on March 18, 2024, that seeds, farmland, and water are central to agriculture, with water being crucial for increasing grain yields. Integrated water and fertilizer technology in Xinjiang has freed up farmland for other crops, enhancing agricultural efficiency. Addressing the shortcomings in irrigation and fertilization, this technology is now a standard in modern and facility agriculture, significantly improving production.
On May 8, 2024, the Econutri coordinator Professor Dimitrios Savvas of the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA), along with Professor Chen Qing of China Agricultural University (CAU) and his dedicated team, visited the headquarters of our committed stakeholder, Guangzhou Rui Feng Ecological Group, located in the Nansha Free Trade Zone of Guangzhou. Rui Feng Ecological Group, renowned for its work in soil remediation, has constructed a comprehensive soil database, significantly contributing to the sustainable development of agriculture in China and globally.
Dr. Georgia Ntatsi, an Assistant Professor at the Agricultural University of Athens, is part of the Econutri project. In this video, she introduces an innovative hydroponic system for cultivating tomatoes. Τhis system incorporates Ion Selective Electrodes and Soilless Nutrisense technology, with the goal of optimising the supply of nitrogen and phosphorus, thus minimising pollution of water resources due to leaching and runoff.
Dr. Dimitrios Savvas, Director of the Laboratory of Vegetable Production, Department of Plant Sciences in the Agricultural University of Athens, is the Coordinator of the Horizon Europe Econutri Project. In this video he is providing general information of the innovative project.
