In July 2024, VERVAET and ODYC participated in Variable Rate Application (VRA) and emission measurement trials at Proefboerderij Rusthoeve in the Netherlands, together with representatives from Rusthoeve, Delphy and ILVO. The trials focused on the use of task maps and NPK sensors to optimize nutrient application under practical conditions.

The activity demonstrated how precision fertilization technologies can contribute to reducing emissions, improving nutrient efficiency and supporting better soil fertility management. As part of the ECONUTRI project, the trials provided further evidence of the potential of digital and sensor-based approaches to strengthen sustainable nutrient management in agriculture.
