On 6 November 2023, ILVO participated in the kick-off activities of the RAMBO project, which included workshops with the project’s klankbordgroep, or stakeholder sounding board group. The session focused on assessing potential measures and techniques to reduce ammonia emissions in pig and poultry housing.

Participants reviewed proposed solutions according to their expected effectiveness, practical applicability, economic feasibility, advantages and disadvantages, and the possibility of verifying results in practice. The discussion highlighted the importance of involving farmers and sector stakeholders in identifying feasible emission-reduction approaches.

Although this was a RAMBO project activity rather than an Econutri event, it is relevant to Econutri’s broader dissemination and clustering context, as it addresses nutrient-related emissions, manure management and practical solutions for reducing environmental impacts from agriculture. ILVO’s involvement also reflects the partner’s active engagement in complementary initiatives supporting sustainable livestock systems and improved air quality.
