On Friday, September 27, and Saturday, September 28, the European Night of Researchers 2024 lit up the iconic Royal Museums of Turin, attracting an incredible 30,000 visitors. This much-anticipated event, held for the third year under the banner of UNIGHT – United Citizens for Research, was a testament to the power of collaboration and the importance of research in shaping a sustainable future.

Organized by the University of Turin(UNITO) and the Polytechnic of Turin, in partnership with the Royal Museums and the UNITA – Universitas Montium Alliance, and with the support of the City of Turin and the Piedmont Region, UNIGHT 2024 showcased the richness of European research through a wide array of engaging activities.

A Hub of Innovation and Interaction

Among the 1,000 researchers and over 250 activities, ECONUTRI, represented by our partner, the UNIVERSITA DEGLI STUDI DI TORINO (UNITO), made a lasting impression. Showcasing cutting-edge agricultural innovations, ECONUTRI engaged with the public through interactive demonstrations and informative discussions. Visitors were introduced to sustainable solutions addressing key agricultural challenges, sparking curiosity and conversations about the future of food systems.

The impact of ECONUTRI’S participation was immense, with thousands of attendees gaining insights into how science and technology can shape resilient and sustainable agriculture.

Key highlights included:

  • 100+ research laboratories in Piazzetta Reale.
  • 30 interactive games designed to make science fun and accessible.
  • 50+ scientific cafés, where researchers and citizens exchanged ideas over coffee.
  • Fascinating exhibitions and tours at the University of Turin’s Historical Library “Arturo Graf,” the Archives, and the Museums of the Palace of the Anatomical Institutes.
  • Cultural and nature walks, encouraging participants to explore Turin’s urban and natural heritage.
