On 13 March 2025, María Teresa (Tere) Peña-Fleitas from University of Almeria (UAL) and Gladys Sanchez from COEXPHAL made presentations to three different classes of 20-25 students aged 9-10 years at the Nueva Andalucía school for Infant and Primary education (CEIP), in Almeria.
Tere explained to the young students how the ECONUTRI project was enabling the local greenhouse production system to more efficiently use fertilisers and irrigation water, which will reduce environmental contamination.
Tere also explained how reduced contamination benefits everyone in Almeria and makes the produce from this system more attractive to shoppers in other countries.
