Title: “Sustainable fertilization of horticultural crops: You are invited to contribute in improving the DSS performance”
DSS Tool: NUTRISENSE DSS

Objective

During two consecutive days, experts from the Agricultural University of Athens who developed the NUTRISENSE Decision Support System (DSS) will interact with farmers, agronomists, computer scientists, scientists from other relevant disciplines, and other professionals from the agrifood sector, aiming for further optimisation of this DSS.
The ultimate objective of this hackathon is to support growers via a specialised DSS in sustainable nutrient management planning both in soil and in soilless cultivations in greenhouses thus reducing fertilisation costs while protecting the water resources from nitrate pollution and eutrophication.

Registration will be open until December 10, 2025.

Registered participants will receive a free 3-month subscription to test the NUTRISENSE DSS if they are not already subscribers.
The three most effective contributors will receive:
Gold, a free 3-year subscription to test the NUTRISENSE DSS
Silver, a free 2-year subscription to test the NUTRISENSE DSS
Bronze, a free 1-year subscription to test the NUTRISENSE DSS

The hackathon will take place from 15 to 16 December 2025. After registration closes on 10 December, all registered participants will receive a Zoom invitation to join an online presentation of NUTRISENSE, followed by an interactive discussion, which will take place on Monday 15 December. During this interactive discussion, the participants will be able to:

• ask specific questions about the use of NUTRISENSE;
• provide suggestions for improvements and additional functions;
• express their opinions or state their experiences from the use of the NUTRISENSE DSS.

The next day, on Tuesday 16 December, the interactive discussion will go on via the ECONUTRI forum. The experts from the AUA team will be available all day to reply via the forum to questions and discuss about the DSS and the nutrient management plans.

By the afternoon of the second day, a closing session will take place via Zoom connection to wrap up the discussions, the new information and the knowledge gained during these two days.
