On 17\u201318 June 2024, InHort presented research linked to ECONUTRI at the VIII National Microbiological Symposium \u201cMetagenomes of Different Environments\u201d in Lublin, Poland. The symposium brought together researchers working on microbiology, biotechnology and environmental applications, and the 2024 edition was organized in Lublin by the Catholic University of Lublin as part of the long-running national symposium series.<\/p>\n

During the conference, Prof. Lidia Sas-Paszt presented the talk \u201cKonsorcja mikrobiologiczne dla stymulacji wzrostu i plonowania ro\u015blin, ograniczaj\u0105ce straty sk\u0142adnik\u00f3w mineralnych do gleby, w\u00f3d, powietrza i emisje gaz\u00f3w cieplarnianych \u2013 Presentation of the results of the Excalibur and ECONUTRI projects.\u201d (\u201cMicrobial Consortia for Stimulating Plant Growth and Yield, Reducing Mineral Nutrient Losses to Soil, Water and Air, and Lowering Greenhouse Gas Emissions \u2013 Presentation of the Results of the Excalibur and ECONUTRI Projects\u201d).<\/p>\n

The presentation highlighted results from ECONUTRI, where innovative plant cultivation technologies were developed and implemented to reduce pollution of soil, water and air caused by the excessive use of mineral fertilisers, chemical plant protection products, and the inappropriate use of organic waste.<\/p>\n

The talk also presented six microbial consortia developed within ECONUTRI to improve the growth and yield of horticultural plants and to support the composting of agricultural waste. Their components include microorganisms from the genera Bacillus, Priestia, Klebsiella, Streptomyces, and Pseudomonas. According to the conference abstract, these consortia showed biostimulatory and protective effects on plant growth and yield, while helping reduce mineral nutrient losses to soil, water and air.<\/p>\n
